The Radstock & Westfield Big Local Dragons' Den is an amazing way to get local people involved in your community project - 40 projects have already been supported!
This is a fun event where you have 90 seconds to pitch your idea to local people, in a friendly setting, and they choose whether we fund it. We will have three kind dragons who are there to help you to explain your project to the audience further. You can ask for up to £500 per project idea - We have £5000 to give away so at least 10 ideas will get funded! There are usually around 15 pitches in total, so you stand a good chance of getting your project funded. There will also be a buffet and music, so bring your support along for an enjoyable evening.
We have a voting system which is transparent and fair. Each local resident in the audience has to vote for their 5 favourite projects, this means that if they were present mainly to support one project, they also support 4 others. The votes are counted and the 10 project ideas with the most votes are each awarded a community grant.
Your application to pitch doesn't have to be complicated, just a quick outline of what you want to do and how it will benefit the Radstock and Westfield community is about all you need to do. Then it's up to the residents to decide the rest!
In the lead up to the event we will advertise your project idea to the community via our social media, which will get people talking and enthused. The sooner you get the application in, the more we can advertise your idea!
Talk to the community workers, Sarah and Rob, to bounce your ideas around and for more information.
