Community money - invested by the community

About Us

Radstock and Westfield were jointly awarded £1million by Big Lottery Fund (now Community Fund) as part of Big Local; a resident led programme which is based on the needs and priorities of residents in areas.

Residents are supported by Local Trust (who manage Big Local) to drive the Radstock and Westfield Big Local forward, and the Radstock & Westfield Big Local CIC who deliver the project on the ground.

There are four programme outcomes set by Big Lottery Fund:

  • Communities will be better able to identify local needs and take action in response to them.
  • People will have increased skills and confidence so that they continue to identify and respond to local needs in the future.
  • The community will make a difference to the needs it prioritises.
  • People will feel that their area is an even better place to live.

The money is to be spent by 2026

Our first plan, that covers 2015-18, can be downloaded HERE

Our second plan, 2018 to 2021, can be downloaded HERE

Our third plan, 2022 to 2026, Plan 3 – 2022-26

We are using the funds to help organisations deliver new and innovative projects that meet the needs our our community. We aim to draw more money and support in to the area, turning the £1m into much much more.
