Writhlington Action Group were recipients of £500 from our Dragons’ Den 9. They made a successful pitch to receive funds towards litter picking equipment for their group to keep their area tidy.
“This is an ongoing project with the litter picking equipment used at least every month to litter pick in Writhlington. We also have 2 bigger community litter picking events in spring and autumn using the equipment.
Writhlington is definitely looking clean
er, with residents taking more of a pride in the environment. We involve both schools in the events and give certificates to children taking part, delivering the certificates to the schools so they can be presented in assembly.
WAG invited Avon Wildlife Trust to join us for the Spring Clean on 14th April this year as they too are working to improve Writhlington for people and wildlife.”
