We received a lovely report from Dragons’ Den 10 winner, Fosseway School:
Here is the report for the Dragons Den regarding your donation to Welton Primary School.
Unfortunately, we no longer have the allotment, as it became too logistically challenging for us to manage. We tried to encourage families to attend and explored various ways for the children to access the allotment during school hours, but we were unable to make it work.
However, we have since started running a gardening club at the school every Monday, which the children are able to join as they wish. We regularly have around 25 children attending. This club allows all children from the local community who attend our school to benefit from the resources funded by Dragons’ Den.
We have successfully spent all of the money that was awarded to us, thank you for the extension that you gave us. I have previously sent you the invoices. The last of the money went on wooden beams to build raised beds.
The money gifted to us has enabled us to purchase many essential items. We have bought a large table bench, which is kept in the polytunnel for the children to use for indoor gardening activities, crafts, and other projects. We also purchased a large sunshade, originally intended for the allotment, which we have used on the school field during the summer to provide extra shade for the children — something they really enjoyed. Additionally, we have bought various gardening supplies, including gloves, netting, poles, seeds, and wooden beams for building raised beds.
We shared in our newsletter that you had awarded us the money and we are going to put a sign up on the outside of the Poly Tunnel.
Thanks again for your patience and support. As you know, schools need all the financial support they can get and your donation has really helped set this club up for the children of Welton Primary School.
